Offered a second chance at life following the War of the Green Lanterns, Laira has returned to her rank as Green Lantern and the protector of sector 112. Currently, Hea Imai is her apprentice and sector partner. The Crown Princess of Jayd, she rules beside her mother. In addition to her responsibilities as a Crown Princess and a Lantern, Laira also holds the responsibilities of a wife and mother. She is married to Hal Jordan and has three children.

Some years in the future, Laira and Hal are still married. Their three children Reina, Alexander, and Mari have grown and are now in their late teens. Hal and Laira still act as Green Lanterns in their respective sectors. Laira remains the Crown Princess of Jayd with her mother maintaining primary rule of the planet.

A rookie within the ranks of the Corps, Laira has successfully completed her first solo mission for the Guardians and now acts as the ruler of Jayd following her father's suicide. Juggling the duel responsibility of a Crown Princess and a Lantern, Laira is learning the responsibilities that not only come from holding a seat of political power, but the ones that also come from being a Lantern.

A former Green Lantern, Laira was expelled from the Corps after killing her father, her brother, and her father’s mistress for their roles in her family’s demise. She becomes Empress of Jayd after seizing power for herself from the current council. A ruthless ruler, she wipes out those who attempt to oppose her. Word of her rule spreads quickly and with it comes the fear that she’d hoped would blossom. Some years later when Hal Jordan takes on the mantle of Parallax and destroys the Corps, he takes Laira as a partner and gifts her with a Qwardian power ring to wield.
